Our Story

Word Of His Power began in London, Ontario on Father's day in 1997 in a bowling alley with a handful of people and with the help of the Holy Spirit, the church has grown from a bowling alley congregation to an established and growing church.

Our church is a Multi-Cultural, Charismatic, Inter-Denominational, and Word based Church! We are focused on making a positive impact on the city of London by creating a loving family based center where all individuals and families can grow in faith and discover God’s plan for their lives.

The fact is, our church is full of people who were raised in any number of denominations: Methodist, Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, and numerous others. The thing we all have in common is that we exalt Jesus Christ as Lord and we believe the Bible is the Word of God.

Our Pastors

Pastors Jay and Sarah founded and serve as the Senior Pastors of Word of His Power after they received their ministry training at Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In June 1995, upon their graduation from Rhema, they received their ordination from Dr. Kenneth E. Hagin and are ordained through the Rhema Ministerial Association International. They are also licensed through the Association of Faith Churches and Ministries of Canada.

Jay and Sarah have always operated as a husband-wife ministry team, sharing the leadership and teaching responsibilities. They have been surrounded by a wonderful staff and team of volunteers and God has blessed Word of His Power with growth, increase and greater influence. Jay and Sarah are also crusade speakers, Bible school teachers, and pastors conference speakers.

Prior to being called into the pastorate, Jay’s professional background included working as the Special Officer of the Foreign Exchange Department and Financial Controller of two large international corporations for over 30 years. In 1993, he left the business world to follow his call to the ministry.

In August 2011, Pastors Jay and Sarah both earned their Doctorates of Theology degrees from School of Bible Theology Seminary and University in San Jacinto, California.

Jay is a gifted communicator and teacher. God has given him a vision and a passion for helping people meet Jesus, and each week he shares God’s word and its practical application in our daily lives. Jay, his wife Sarah and their daughter, Rebecca, live in London, Ontario.

The Word of His Power Leaders and Helpers is made up a wonderful group of people! Over 70 men and women serve on the WOHP Leaders and Helpers in a variety of roles. Each member has a servant's heart and a passion to serve the Lord and the local church.

God is changing lives every week at Word Of His Power Church, and behind every changed life are the faces of our WOHPTeams. Whether it’s helping guests find a great parking spot, teaching in Kids Church, doing student ministry, operating stage lights or anything in between, our WOHPTeams are connectors to the current of the power of Jesus Christ. There is simply no greater joy than to know you are used by God in a way that makes an eternal impact on others.

Rebecca Jayaraman is the only daughter of Drs. Jay and Sarah and serves on the ministry team at Word Of His Power Faith Christian Centre. Having graduated from Rhema Bible Training Centre in 1999, she has been involved in full time ministry since then. She formally serves as the youth pastor at WOHP. She also has degrees in English and Media Information Technology from The University of Western Ontario, London Ontario.

We believe God's Word changes lives. And whether it's a live video broadcast or in-person preaching, the transforming message of the Gospel is waiting to be experienced as you walk through the doors of Word Of His Power Church.

Word Of His Power Church is a multi-generational church where the Word of Faith is taught and the Spirit of Faith is caught. We are committed to helping the lost get saved and the saved get victory!
